W wyniku wojny atomowej Ziemia nie nadaje się już do życia. Ludzkość schroniła się w betonowym schronie w oczekiwaniu na przybycie Arki, która przeniesie ich w bezpiecznie miejsce. Ocalała garstka Ziemian ulega degeneracji w wyniku strachu, głodu, choroby. Mit Arki, który utrzymuje ich przy życiu, a zarazem doprowadza do szaleństwa, jest efektem działań propagandowych rządu. Soft (J. Stuhr), funkcjonariusz służby bezpieczeństwa brał udział w przeprowadzeniu ocalałych do schronu, a teraz po roku wraz z nimi sięga dna egzystencji. Tymczasem sklepienie schronu grozi zawaleniem. Soft próbuje namówić Konstruktora do naprawy mechanizmu kopuły, która chroni przed radioaktywnym promieniowaniem. Kiedy kopuła pęka, tłum rzuca się w kierunku światła w przekonaniu, że wydarza się cud.
Film science-fiction autorstwa Piotra Szulkina, który stanowi trzecią część postapokaliptycznej serii wraz z "Golemem", "Wojną światów – następne stulecie", "Ga, ga. Chwała bohaterom". Fantastyczny kostium kryje nastrój beznadziei okresu stanu wojennego. W obsadzie aktorskiej ponownie Krystyna Janda, Marek Walczewski i Mariusz Dmochowski. Wśród znakomitych współtwórców filmu warto wymienić Witolda Sobocińskiego – autora „niebieskich” zdjęć i Jerzego Satanowskiego – autora muzyki.
Na 10. Festiwalu Polskich Filmów Fabularnych w Gdańsku Andrzej Kowalczyk zdobył Nagrodę za Scenografię (1985).
As a result of a nuclear war, the Earth is no longer suitable for life. People decide to hide in a concrete shelter and wait for the arrival of the mythical Ark, which would transport them to a safe place. The handful of survivors degenerate due to fear, hunger, and disease. The myth of the Ark, which both keeps them alive and at the same time drives them crazy, is the result of the government's propaganda. Soft (J. Stuhr), an officer of the security service, took part in the process of transporting the survivors to the shelter. Now, one year later, the man hits rock bottom. Meanwhile, the shelter's vault is in a bad condition. Soft tries to convince the Constructor to repair the mechanism of the dome that protects people against radioactive radiation. As the dome cracks, the crowd rushes towards the light, hoping for a miracle.
A science-fiction film by Piotr Szulkin, it is the third part of the director’s post-apocalyptic series that includes: "Golem", "Wojna światów – następne stulecie", "Ga, ga. Chwała bohaterom". The fantastic costume conceals the hopeless mood of the martial law period. The cast again includes Krystyna Janda (Gea), Marek Walczewski (Soft's boss), Mariusz Dmochowski (the millionaire). A lot of great artists worked on the film. It is especially good to mention Witold Sobociński (the author of the "blue" photos) and Jerzy Satanowski (the author of the music).
At the 10th Polish Film Festival in Gdańsk, Andrzej Kowalczyk won the Scenography Award (1985).
